Looking around you, optoelectronics or photonics technology is everywhere. Internet, smartphone, etc. You may think that you are connected wirelessly these days, but wireless is up to the antenna and from there on fiber optic communication. High-speed calculations in both on data servers and supercomputers used for advanced AI calculations are performed by connecting computers via optical communication, Lasers are used on optical discs, LEDs light up the night. Optical sensors are often used for health care, and optical radars (also known as LiDARs) are a key device of new autonomous driving technologies for vehicles. Without optoelectronics and optical communications, your current life is no longer realistic. Our lab has long supported this technology development, with many graduates at the forefront of the company. New technologies continue to emerge from the lab. Why don’t you join as a lab member?
Are you accepting research students for the purpose of entering graduate school?
No. We do not accept the research students if you want to be the research students for entering graduate school. The research students are for doing research. So, we don’t think you can have enough time to study for entrance exam. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to directly take the entrance exam. Instead of being a research student, use that money and time to focus the study for the entrance exam. Many students in our group passed the exam by this way.
Do you have foreign country students?
Yes, we have several students. So, it is no problem to survive in our lab.
Are you accepting the students who do not plan to go to doctor course?
For the foreign students starting from master course, we strongly recommend them to continue their study to doctor course since “2 years” are too short to learn the knowledge and skill as well as culture in Japan.
